An autopsy done yesterday on Olita Mendez, who was found motionless in her bathtub on Tuesday morning, showed the 24-year-old drowned.
Mendez, who was a Clerk at the Court of Appeal, was found motionless in her bathtub by one of her relatives in her Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo home. Reports indicated that her body was discovered after it was realised that the woman was in the bathroom for a long period of time.
While it was suspected that the woman suffered a seizure and died, information received stated that the autopsy showed Mendez drowned.
When Stabroek News contacted relatives, they declined to comment.
