Former West Indies Under-19 all-rounder Bhaskar Yadram was drafted to the Windward Islands while Guyana retained Raymon Reifer and took back Ramaal Lewis into their set up as Cricket West Indies hosted its Franchise Draft 2019/2020 yesterday in Antigua.
Yadram, 19, featured in the Guyana Jaguars setup back in 2017 where he played just two matches. The right-handed batsman in 2018 became the first batman to score 300 in the Guyana Cricket Board Under-19 Inter-County three-day tournament and was the first pick of the draft this year.
Assad Fuddadin was retained by Jamaica Scorpions, making him the only other Guyanese to feature in a team outside of Guyana.
With two out of home territory picks mandated, Guyana had retained Barbados’ all-rounder, Raymon Reifer and drafted Ramaal Lewis who has been with the side for the last two seasons.
Selecting the Guyana Franchise were Anand Sanasie and Esaun Crandon who also picked up Christopher Barnwell, Gudakesh Motie, Keon Joseph and Tevin Imlach to add to their 10 retained players that formed the core of their five consecutive title reigns.
