Reggae/Dancehall artiste Patrice Gonsalves who goes by the stage name Sonjah Royalty will be performing at the Ghetto Boushwha (Bourgeoisie) Concert tonight alongside several of Guyana’s renowned artistes in commemoration of Earth Day which was observed on Monday last.
The Non Parshal Entertainment Production spearheaded by Lambi I will also see performances by Lambi I, Alabama, Natural One, Gad I King and Living Fyah among others.
In an interview with The Scene, Sonjah Royalty said fans can surely expect grand entertainment as it will be a positive night.
Following tonight’s concert Sonjah is slated to perform again on Monday night in the Culture Roots Reggae By the River Concert that will be held in Linden. The concert is presented by the Irits High Family. Other artistes scheduled to perform are First Born, Dub Master, Reme Shatta, Best, John B, Fire Ray, ABNA, Dubbles and Fire Stone.
To date, Sonjah has released two songs: “Rise Up” and “Blessings from Birth”. She is expected to release her third original called “Ganja” sometime next month. She has written more than 24 songs, but according to her, the quality of her songs is what matters most and therefore she is taking all the time needed to have them produced and recorded before she releases them.
Asked about her musical journey, Sonjah said music itself is a blessing and though she has had some struggles, she is determined to get her music out into the world and make a difference.
She is currently attached to Til-Shiloh Records.
General admission for both concerts is free. The concerts are an opportunity to promote local reggae talent.
Ghetto Boushwha is slated for Bomb Square, West Ruimveldt while Culture Roots Reggae By the River is set for Wismar Market River Front. Both concerts will start at 8 pm.
