The Inner Wheel Club yesterday hosted its annual Hat Show and Garden Party, in an effort to raise funds for scholarships which will benefit young adults around the country interested in pursuing training in the educational and medicinal fields.
Over a hundred persons attended the event, which was hosted at the Promenade Gardens in Georgetown. There were over 50 participants in the Hat Show competition, most of whom were children.

Contestants began registering for the Hat Show at 2.30 pm. Registration was scheduled to close at 3.30 pm but due to an unlimited amount of interested participants, it closed until 5pm, despite the arrival of more persons who were interested in joining the competition. Both the adults and children participated in three separate categories: elegant, topical and original. The contest also recognises the most environmentally-conscious contestant, who demonstrates the artistic use of recycled materials.
