The annual Hamilton Green 9-Aside Inter-Ward Football Championship will resume on May 5 at the Den Amstel Community Centre ground.
The event tournament was rescheduled from its initial final match-day of April 28th. In the opening matchup, Timehri Panthers will oppose Mahaica in the opening matchup at 15:00hrs, with Soesdyke engaging Liliendaal at 15:30hrs.
In the third fixture, Mocha will tackle Charlestown from 16:00hrs, while Pouderoyen will engage Bagotsville at 16:30hrs and Goed Fortuin battle DeKinderen from 17:00hrs.
At 17:30hrs, Sophia will oppose Bourda Blues, while Den Amstel Back Street face-off with Zeelugt from 18:00hrs and Uitvlugt battles Vreed-en-Hoop from 18:30hrs. The eventual winners will advance to the quarterfinal round. The semi-final round and eventual final will also be staged.
Four substitutions are permitted in this format, with each game running for the duration of 30 minutes via two halves of 15 minutes.
If normal time is unable to produce a winner, sudden death penalty kicks will be utilised to decide the outcome.
Winner of the annual tournament will pocket $300,000 and the John Fernandes trophy, with the second place finisher pocketing $100,000 and the Courtney Benn trophy.
On the other hand, the third and fourth place sides will collect $60,000 and $40,000 respectively and the corresponding Techno Mills and Ready Mix Trophies apiece.
Similarly, the eventual champion and runner-up will receive hampers compliments of Ricks& Sari Ltd.
On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player [MVP] will receive a Dinette Chair, with the Best Goalkeeper collecting a trophy donated by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
