GCC Bingo Spartans, Saints, Hikers Cadets and Old Fort Ballerz recorded the largest margin of wins on the resumption of the Guyana Hockey Board (GHB) sponsored Bounty Paper and Solo Drink under – 20 and second division leagues at Saints Ground at the weekend.
A round-up of the weekend’s completed fixtures saw Spartans showing little mercy over their GCC counterparts, Her-Ricanes who they hammered 8-0 on the back of braces from Abosaide Cadogan, Paige Fernandes and Makeda Harding while Madison Fernandes and Sarah Klautky each netted once in the girls under – 20 fixture.
Saints were also in demolition mode as they defeated YMCA Old Fort Bellas 9-0 in the other girls under – 20 match on the back of a hat trick from Maria Seegobin while Charlia Webb and Cherub Outar both recorded two strikes pass the upright. Nia Williams and Clayza Bobb were the others to score.
In the men’s Second D action, Hikers Cadets dished out a 7-0 mauling over YMCA Old Fort Rust where Colonel Haywood netted three goals while Devein Munroe snuck two goals past the keeper. Sherwyn Caesar and Brian Asregado were the others who contributed to the win.
In the other Second D matches Saturday, Bounty GCC and SHC Savages ended in a scoreless draw; GCC the Sequel got pass SHC Shockwaves on the back of four goals from Patrick Edghill. Old Fort Aces were the other Second D winner on the day, defeating Shockwaves 3-0.
Sunday’s men Second D action saw SHC Savers passing Cadets 2-1. Cadets suffered their second defeat of the day when they went down to OF Aces 1-3 while Bounty GCC defeated Shockwaves 3-1.
Sequel was also in the winner’s row after Philip Fernandes produced a hat trick to guide the GCC side to a 5-0 win over OF Rusty.
In the boys under – 21 action OF Ballerz trounced OF Generalz 7-1 in a contest where Theodore (four goals) and Shaquon Favourite shared seven goals between them.
