A man was yesterday remanded to prison after being charged with wounding.
Eric Roberts was read a charge which stated that on March 10th, at 111 Miles, Mahdia, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Russell Adams with intent to maim, disfigure, disable, or cause actual bodily harm.
Roberts denied the charge after it was read to him by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in Georgetown.
According to police prosecutor Sanj Singh, Adams sustained multiple lacerations to his head.
Bail was then objected to given the fact that the accused did not provide the court with a proper address and the police had difficulty locating him after the incident would have occurred.
Roberts was subsequently remanded to prison and is set to return before the Chief Magistrate today.
Meanwhile, another wounding accused, Shane Cornell, was granted his release on $50,000 bail after denying the charge against him.
Cornell, who also appeared before Magistrate Daly yesterday, is accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Erwin Willington on April, 25th, 2019 at Alberttown.
Prosecutor Singh stated that Willington suffered a puncture to the left forearm. Cornell was granted his release on bail by Magistrate Daly, who adjourn-ed the case until May 20th, 2019.
