The Guyana Marketing Corporation (GMC) has announced the addition of 30 new agro-processed products to the shelves of The Guyana Shop, following their release from 13 local agro-processors.
These products include seasonings, sauces, wines, flour and soaps, a Department of Public Information (DPI) release said.
DPI noted that the Guyana Shop, which has been operating for more than 30 years, supports local entrepreneurs by providing a platform for local agro-processed goods to be marketed, and over 200 products have been produced locally due to its influence on the agro-processing industry.
It was further noted that the GMC has assisted agro-processors with adding value to their products through various methods, including packaging and raw material sourcing, labelling, and scientific assessments to improve the shelf life, taste and quality of products.
The newly added products are: Scented coconut oils, which have been released in five fragrances from the Pomeroon Oil Mills; All-purpose seasoning and sauce, hot sauce and honey, produced by Luke’s Manufacturing; Fruity Chinese Sauce from Anne’s Products; Breadfruit Flour, produced by the Guyana School of Agriculture; Red wine, Jackfruit wine, Aunty Desmond wine and Plum wine, products of GT Wines.
Pakaraima Sun Dried Tomato Ketchup (360 ml) and Pakaraima Salad Dressing (360 ml), products of Pakaraima Flavours; Rupununi Essence Facial Cleaners, available in both the liquid form and soap bar; Morning Glory Molasses Flavoured Rice Cereal; an assortment of jams, grinded seasoning and pepper sauce from Eat to Live; Cassava Casareep, a product of OYONO Products; Rainforest Honey, produced by Sun Crest Farms.
All-Purpose Seasoning, Chicken Seasoning, Chowmein Seasoning, Cook Up Seasoning, Fried Rice Seasoning, Fish Seasoning and Garlic Powder, products of Dieka’s Products; Mauby Concentrate, Meat and Fish Seasoning, Carambola Fruits, Plantain Flour, Casareep, Cassava Bread and Pepper Sauce, and 10 oz Mauby Concentrate, all from Ambrosial Products; as well as Power Mix (a powdered protein mix), released by Green Diamond.
The release noted that last Saturday, Pakaraima Flavours held a sample session in the FoodMaxx Supermarket at the Giftland Mall to introduce their products to the public and receive feedback on the condiments.
