Rose Ramdehol Autos continued their support of the Annual Corona Beer Futsal Championship, donating a Hero Motorcycle toward the event’s Most Valuable Player [MVP] yesterday, during a simple ceremony held at their South Road office.
Speaking on behalf of the company Joshua Ramdehol stated that the company is proud to once again be associated with the tournament, adding “it’s part of our social responsibility here in Guyana to mirror what is being done globally, and continue the work Hero is doing in encouraging youths through sports.
He further added, “There is more to it than just a tournament. I was at many games last year (and) it was exhilarating and enjoyable and I encourage everyone to come as this year is anticipated to be much bigger.”
Meanwhile, Co-Director of the Petra Organization Troy Mendonca thanked the company for their continued support, which he said will aid once again in making the event a success.
The event continues tomorrow at the National Gymnasium with the opening night of group matches. At 19:30hrs, Tucville will oppose North East La Penitence, with Bent Street battling Mocha from 20:15hrs and Leopold Street engaging Future Stars at 21:00hrs.
In the fourth affair, Sparta Boss opposes Beacons from 21:45hrs while West Front Road tackles Tigerbay at 22:30hrs and Back Circle takes aim at California Square from 23:15hrs.
Group-A comprises Back Circle, Sparta Boss, California Square and Beacons, whilst group-B features Leopold Street, Bent Street, Mocha and Future Stars.
Group-C consists of Tucville, West Front Road, Tigerbay and North East La Penitence. Winner of the event pockets $500,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third and fourth place finishers will collect $250,000, $125,000 and $75,000 each and the respective trophy.
Similarly, $40,000 will be awarded to each group winner, while $30,000, $20,000 and $15,000 will be presented to the second, third and fourth place group finishers, respectively.
