The first round of the Guyana Hockey Board (GHB) sponsored Bounty Paper and Solo Drink under – 20 and second division leagues concluded at Saints Ground at the weekend where the Saints Hockey Club asserted itself atop the points leader board.
Saints Savages leads the points table with 14 points after four wins and two losses in the men’s second division. They are closely marked by GCC The Sequel (13 points) and YMCA Old Fort Aces (12 points).
Meanwhile, after three rounds in the women second division category, Saints has accumulated nine points after registering three wins, the last of which came against Bingo Spartans on Saturday.
GBTI GCC is in second on six points while Spartans and YMCA of Wild Cats are at the bottom of the table on a point each.
In the boys under – 20 league, GCC Pitbulls and YMCA of Ballerz are leading the board with 10 points each while Saints Samurai is sitting on six points third as the usually dominant Spartans holds a three-point cushion ahead of their closed rival Saints who sit on six points in the girls under – 20 division.
The league will recommence on July 13.
