Tiger Bay, Back Circle, Future Stars, Sparta Boss and Bent Street were among the winning teams when the Corona Beer Futsal Championships continued on Saturday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Tiger Bay squeaked past West Front Road 2-1. Deon Alfred tallied a double in the first and 20th minute. For the losers Jamal Pedro netted in the fifth minute.
Similarly, Back Circle squeaked past California Square 3-2. Trayon Bobb bagged a two goal haul in the sixth and 18th minute with Selwyn Williams scoring in the seventh minute.
For California Square, Meshach Sergeant scored twice in the 13th and 14th minute. Likewise, Future Stars downed Leopold Street 5-3.
Kieron Solomon scored twice in the fourth and 16th minute, with Jamal Cozier, Rondell Bowman and William Europe adding goals in the third, fifth and 18th minute correspondingly.
Eon Alleyne tallied a hat-trick for Leopold Street in the fifth, ninth and 20th minute. Meanwhile, Sparta Boss dismissed Beacons 6-2.
Ryan Hackett scored a hat-trick in the second, fourth and 17th minute, while Kelsey Benjamin, Eusi Phillips and Jermin Junior scored in the 10th, 13th and 14th minute each.
For Beacons, Dorian Dickson and Wesley Greenidge netted in the fifth and 20th minute respectively. Also, Bent Street mauled Mocha 5-0.
Sheldon Holder recorded a double in the third and eighth minute alongside an Adrian Aaron brace in the 14th and 20th minute. Adding a goal in the second minute was Pernel Schultz.
In other result, North East La Penitence defeated Tucville 5-3. The event continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of matches.
At 19:30hrs, Tucville oppose Tiger Bay while Leopold Street battles Mocha from 20:15hrs and Back Circle engages Beacons at 21:0hhrs.
In the fourth affair, Bent Street takes aim at Future Stars from 21:45hrs, while Sparta Boss lock horns with California Square at 22:30hrs and West Front Road face-off with North East La Penitence from 23:15hrs.
