The Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Linden Championship will crown a new champion after defending champions Silver Bullets lost to High Rollers in the semi-final stage Saturday at the Mackenzie Market Tarmac.

The unlikely result was witnessed by a large crowd and  the youthful unit overcame their experienced foes, winning 1-0 on penalty kicks, following a scoreless regulation and extra time interval, sealing their first ever final’s appearance.

Omar Brewley was the difference on the night as he scored the only goal in the tense penalty shoot-out. This occurred after both Jermaine Samuels and Robin Adams of Silver Shattas failed to convert their penalty attempts while team-mate Jonah Simon also failed.

With the win, High Rollers sets up a meeting with fellow maiden finalist Amazings, who prevailed via the identical penalty shoot-out route.

The scrappy Amazings outfit, were perfect from the distance, defeating Capital Storm 2-1 on penalty kicks, after regulation and extra time failed to decide the outcome in a scoreless and physical encounter.

The losers of the respective semi-final matches will face-off in the third place playoff. Meanwhile, in the earlier quarterfinal round, High Rollers upset tournament favourite Swag Entertainment 2-1.

The duo of Jehu Regis and Shane Haynes recorded first half goals in the fifth and eighth minute each to seal the unlikely victory.

For the losers, Colwyn Drakes etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 13th minute. On the other hand, Amazings sealed their place in the final four, squeaking past Coomacka 2-1 on penalty kicks, after normal time ended 0-0.

Silver Bullets crushed Wisroc 4-0. Damion Williams recorded  a hat-trick, opening his account in the 11th minute, before registering a ‘Guinness Goal’ [GG] [a goal scored in the final three minutes counts as two] in the 20th minute.

Assisting with a third minute conversion was Jermaine Samuels while Capitol Storm edged Quiet Storm 2-1. An 18th minute [GG] from Oral Peters sealed the win. For the loser, Kellon Adams netted in the sixth minute.
