Linden based cyclist, Michael Anthony took his talents to the Ancient County on Sunday and rode off with the spoils of the Phillip Arokium Memorial 50-Mile Road Race.
Anthony led Berbicians, Andrew Hicks (United WS) and his club mate, Andre Green onto the podium for the event which started at New Amsterdam, proceeded to the NO.36 Village and returned to the point of origin.
Balram Narine, Marcus Keiler and Christopher Griffith filled out the top six rewarding positions.
Anthony, who won three sprint prizes, out sprinted his break away mate, Hicks to take the top spot.
The Linden Bauxite Flyers standout stopped the clock in two hours, 12 minutes and 11 seconds in perfect conditions for racing for the event which was organized by the Flying Ace Cycle Club.
Junior Niles, Paul Choo-We-Nam and Jaikarran Sukhai were the top three veterans while Mario Washington, David Hicks and Steve Bhimsen placed one-two-three in the junior category. In other results, Shenika Texeira, Deance’ Welch and Maria Carrington were the top three female finishers.
