The Golden Jaguars will commence their League-B campaign in the CONCACAF Nations League September 6th away to Aruba following the official release of the event schedule yesterday by the confederation.
It will be the first of six matches for the 21st ranked Guyanese. Following their match-up with the 31st ranked Arubans, Guyana will host 6th ranked Jamaica on September 9th.
The second round of matches will occur in October, with Guyana travelling to the 22nd ranked Antigua and Barbuda unit on the 11th, before hosting the reverse fixture three days later.
The final round of matches will then occur during the month of November. Guyana will host Aruba on the 15th, before travelling to Jamaica three days later. Winner of the group will advance to the League-A section of the competition in the subsequent edition.
All the competing teams were assigned into Leagues A, B, and C following their performances in the recently concluded Nations League qualifiers.
Each league will feature promotion and relegation. The countries will compete in a home-and-away round-robin format during the duration of the group campaign.
The four group winners from League-A will qualify to the Nations League final championship slated for March 2020, which will determine the champion of the competition.
The last-placed League-A nations in each group will be relegated to League-B for the next edition of the tournament.
Identically, the four group winners from League-B will be promoted to League-A, while the cellar occupants of each group will be relegated to League-C for the next edition.
The same formalities will apply to League-C. The four group winners will be promoted to League-B, but the bottom four group finishers will remain in the same League.
Meanwhile, Group-A consists of French Guiana [16th], St Kitts & Nevis [18th], Belize [24th] and Grenada [28th], while Group-C contains El Salvador [9th], Dominican Republic [20th], St Lucia [26th] and Montserrat [35th].
Group-D features Nicaragua [14th], Suriname [20th], St Vincent and Grenadines [25th] and Dominica [32nd].
Meanwhile, Group-A of League-A, the premier section of the tournament, comprises the United States of America [2nd], Canada [7th] and Cuba [13th], with Group B featuring Mexico [1st], Panama [5th] and Bermuda [23rd].
Group-C is made up of Honduras [4th], Trinidad and Tobago [11th] and Martinique [12th], with Costa Rica [3rd], Haiti [10th] and Curacao [15th] completing Group-D.
In terms of League-C, Barbados [29th], Cayman Islands [34th], the US Virgin Islands [37th] and Saint Martin [38th] will make up Group-A, while Group-B consists of Bonaire [27th], Bahamas [33rd] and the British Virgin Islands [40th].
Group-C features Guatemala [8th], Puerto Rico [30th] and Anguilla [41st], with Guadeloupe [17th], Turks & Caicos [36th] and Sint Maarten [39th] placed in Group-D.
