The 16th Torginol Paints Golf tournament was launched at the company’s Industrial Site Ruimveldt location yesterday and is set to tee off June 1.
Saying that he was delighted with the condition of the course, despite consistent rains, Lusignan Gold Club President, Aleem Hussain extended gratitude to the company for its continued support.
Administrative Assistant, Rajesh Ramgolam along with Marketing Assistants, Dianne Deoraj and Robert Singh as well as Confidential Secretary, Stacy Ann Wong were all elated with the tournament, mentioning the potential the sport has to rival any of the country’s top sports disciplines.
Ramgolam reiterated the company’s commitment to the development of sports in Guyana and said that he was pleased to be associated with the event.
“Torginol is the only locally manufactured paint with a special formula to beat the harsh weather conditions in Guyana. Similarly, the top golfers will strive to win the Torginol Paints trophy and beat tough competition to emerge at the top of the field,” said Hussain.
“The magnitude of the tournament is going to bring out a lot, if not all the top players in the country,” Hussain added.
He predicted that there will be the largest contingent of female players taking to the greens including Dr. Joann Deo as well as female opposition from neighboring countries like Suriname.
