The round of 16 section of the Hamilton Green 9-a-side Inter-Ward football championships will commence today at the Den Amstel Community Centre ground.
Timehri Panthers will oppose Vreed-en-Hoop at 15:00hrs with Soesdyke engaging DeKinderen at 15:30hrs in the first two matches.
In the third fixture Mocha will tackle Liliendaal from 16:00hrs while Pouderoyen will engage Bagotsville at 16:30hrs and Goed Fortuin battle Bourda Blues from 17:00hrs.
At 17:30hrs, Sophia will oppose Mahaicony while Den Amstel face-off with Charlestown from 18:00hrs and Uitvlugt battles Zeelugt from 18:30hrs.
The subsequent winners of the matches will advance to the quarterfinal round.
Following the conclusion of the quarterfinal section the semi-final round and eventual final will also be staged.
The winning team will pocket $300,000 and the John Fernandes trophy while the second place finisher will pocket $100,000 and the Courtney Benn trophy.
On the other hand, the third and fourth place sides will collect $60,000 and $40,000 respectively and the corresponding Techno Mills and Ready Mix Trophies apiece.
Similarly, the eventual champion and runner-up will receive hampers compliments of Ricks& Sari Ltd.
On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player [MVP] will receive a Dinette Chair, with the Best Goalkeeper collecting a trophy donated by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
