Government will be holding its seventh ministerial outreach in Bartica, Region Seven, next Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Director-General of the Ministry of the Presidency Joseph Harmon.
Speaking during the weekly post-Cabinet press briefing yesterday, Harmon informed that the programme, which brings government to the people, will include the convening of Cabinet.
According to Harmon, over the two days, an outreach will be held, including ministries and agencies and there will be a series of community meetings at which government ministers and other officials will make addresses.
The outreach programme has so far been held in regions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10, allowing thousands of citizens to bring issues affecting them for attention and resolution. Many of those issues were resolved on the spot while follow up and ongoing monitoring and evaluation exercises are being conducted by the Ministry of the Presidency to ensure that outstanding issues are addressed and resolved, he said. There has, however, been concern that the outreaches are being used for campaigning purposes by government ahead of possible early general elections.
