President’s College, Marian Academy and Bishops’ High secured wins in the U18 section when the Youth Basketball Guyana [YBG] ‘Regional Conference’ continued Friday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
President’s College mauled Tutorial High 77-11. Richard Semple amassed 27 points and eight rebounds while Jushaun Bailey chipped in with 18 points.
Adding 11 points and nine rebounds was Rankin McDonald. Tutorial High’s Peter Thompson had four points and nine rebounds.
Also, Marian Academy edged out Georgetown Technical Institute [GTI] 40-35. Josiah Daniels bagged a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds while Akili Haynes chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds.
For GTI, Israel Yaw had 12 points and 15 rebound and Darren Thomas Jr., nine points and 11 rebounds.
The Bishops’ High crushed St. Rose’s High 69-36. Keron Bacchus led the way with 23 points while Timothy Richmond and Daniel Benjamin added 11 points.
For St Rose’s Jaden Craig and Adrian Pilgrim tallied 12 and 10 points respectively.
In the U14 section, President’s College mauled Marian Academy 27-8. Kerol Mentore recorded a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Rasean Barnwell added five points and seven rebounds.
For Marian Academy, Nicholas Verwey had four points and eight rebounds. Also, St. Stanislaus College downed YBG Cluster 23-17.
Daniel Bailey tallied a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. He was supported by Shalom Dutt and James Bascom who scored four points each.
For the losers, Kalani Howard and Luanna Mohan tallied six and four points respectively. The tournament is sponsored by Edward B. Beharry & Company Ltd, NSC, Banks DIH LTD and ExxonMobil.
