Moments after being recaptured following an escape while they were being brought to a city court, two men were charged with robbing a couple and one of them was sentenced to two-and-half years in jail after he admitted to the crime.
Police say Navin Ally, 24, and Seon Ray, 20, made their escape while they were being brought to court to answer to two joint robbery charges. The pursuit of the duo resulted in shots being fired into the air as officers gave chase.
Ally later stood before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus with a tissue over his nose to prevent blood from dripping to the ground.
