Shamar Harvey, 21, who is charged with the murder of Albouystown teen Christopher Mansfield, yesterday learned that he had been found fit to stand trial.
This was reported by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan weeks after Harvey’s attorney inform-ed the court that the accused has been a psychiatric patient since 2016.
Police prosecutor Neville Jeffers told the court that a report was brought to the court. The Chief Magistrate, after examining the report, stated that based on what was written, Harvey was fit to stand trial and was also to continue treatment.
Prosecutor Jeffers then served statements to the court and noted that a ballistics report was outstanding.
The Chief Magistrate later adjourned the matter until July 9th, when the Preliminary Inquiry into the charge is set to commence.
It is alleged that Harvey, on March 31st, at Albouys-town, murdered Mansfield.
The fatal shooting of Mansfield, 18, of 66 Barr Street, Albouystown occurred in close proximity to Nonpareil Street, Albouystown, as he was making his way to a football field at West La Penitence.
