A post-mortem examination later revealed that he died as a result of the single chop he suffered to his chest.
Laurain McDonald, the dead man’s mother, had explained to this newspaper that her son left home around 6.30 pm on Boxing Day to attend the barbecue, which was being held several houses away.
About 30 minutes after, she said her nephew ran home to inform the family that, “Carly get chop and he fall overboard.”
The woman had recalled that on Christmas Day, one of the deceased’s cousins and Chase were involved in a heated argument over a woman and it became physical.
She said at no point Mc Donald have any issue with the suspect.

I see Carly stand up in the corner and the man run to Carly and chop he and Carly throw a bottle but the man duck and we run back to go. Then the man throw Carly overboard,” Caesar recalled.
