A Buxton, East Coast Demerara resident was taken into custody on Monday, after the police conducted a search at his home and found two illegal handguns and a quantity of live ammunition and cannabis.
According to the police, the search was carried out around 11:30 am at the Middle Walk, Buxton, house by ranks of ‘C’ Division.
Apart from the handguns, six live rounds of ammunition and 33 grammes of cannabis were also discovered, the police said.
The suspect, a 26-year-old labourer, is likely to be charged soon.
