An East Ruimveldt man was yesterday remanded by a city magistrate, after pleading not guilty to the possession of 27 grammes of cannabis.
Twenty-six-year-old Dexroy Lewis, of Lot 592 East Ruimveldt, appeared before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 5 yesterday, when he was charged with the offence.
Lewis, who was represented by attorney Keoma Griffith, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Griffith told the magistrate that his client was never shown the substance nor was anything ever weighed in Lewis’ presence. He also informed her of unfair treatment his client would have experienced during the time he was arrested, up until yesterday’s date.
