Venezuelans remanded over theft, receipt of stolen articles

Two Venezuelans were yesterday remanded to prison, after they were jointly charged with breaking and entering a shop in Kumaka, Region One, where they allegedly stole articles valued more than $200,000.

Another Venezuelan, who was charged with knowingly accepting the stolen articles, was also remanded.

They appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court one.

Oscar Joramilo, 22, and Alexis Zapata, 22, denied a charge alleging that between June 21 and 22, they broke and entered the shop of Alicia Wong and stole $273,300 worth of articles.
