Two fraud charges against a taxi driver were dismissed by a city magistrate yesterday.

Ravindranauth Doodnauth, 27, had denied both charges when they were first read to him in Georgetown.

The first charge alleged that Doodnauth, on January 8th, 2019, at Seaforth Street, Campbell-ville, being solely entrusted by Samuel Lloyd with a Toyota car, valued $2 million, for work, fraudulently converted it to his own use and benefit.

It was also alleged that on the same date and at the same location, with intent to defraud, Doodnauth obtained $6,000 from Lloyd to purchase an Ambassador Taxi logo.

The two charges were dismissed yesterday after Magistrate Rondell Weever held that insufficient evidence was led against Doodnauth by the police.
