WhatsApp child rapist captured on camera in Trinidad

(Trinidad Express) Police have obtained closed circuit television footage of the paedophile who allegedly raped a 14 year old girl at a sporting complex last week Saturday.

The images of the man entering and leaving the facility were captured by cameras at a store nearby.

The victim told police officers that the man told her a name, that he is from San Juan and is in his late 20’s.

Officers are searching through their records to ascertain if the man is a sexual offender.

Investigators said that the girl was expected to meet with a counsellor this week. The victim told police that the man told her he used an app to track her to a Siparia sporting complex last Saturday.

The incident occurred a short distance away from the two Siparia Police Stations.

The victim told police officers that a few months ago she had been introduced to the man by one of her friends via Facebook.

She said that they exchanged cell phone numbers and had conversations on What’s app where he told her he wished to have a relationship with her.

She said she refused, and blocked his number from her phone.

He continued to pursue her, she said, as days later he called her using another cell phone.

The girl told police that on Saturday she was in the pavilion area of the sporting complex when the man approached her.

She said that they talked and he told her that he had installed an app on his phone to track her cell phone.

He convinced her to walk with him to an area leading to the wash rooms.

The victim said that the man overpowered her and using tie straps he tied her hands and feet.

He then pulled her tee shirt over her head and fastened another tie strap with the tee-shirt at her neck.

Police said the victim said she had screamed for help, but her screams were muffled beneath the tee shirt.

Someone who went to the sporting complex rescued the victim, and alerted officers of the Siparia Police station, who contacted her parents and took her to hospital.
