A money-changer and his daughter were this afternoon shot and killed in a home invasion at Better Hope, East Coast Demerara.
The victims have been identified as Aaron Latchman and Arianna Latchman of Robert Street, Better Hope North, East Coast Demerara.
The attack reportedly occurred at around 3.15 this afternoon.
Both victims were pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The Police have issued the following statement on the murders:
Police are investigating the murder of money changer Aaron Latchman and his daughter Arriana Latchman,19,of 58 Robert Street,Better Hope, ECD which occurred about 15:00h during the course of a robbery at the aforementioned address by two males, both armed with handguns.
Information so far received that the victims arrived at their home in a motorcar and as they existed ,were confronted by the men and during a struggle, the perpetrators shot the victims multiple times and escaped with a bag containing cash.
The victims were rushed to the GPHC and were they succumbed to their injuries.
No arrests at this time.
