Xinoxi Qu, the Chinese national who was charged with the attempted murder of a customer, yesterday maintained his innocence in the charge brought against him.
Qu is currently before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who is presiding over the Preliminary Inquiry.
The charge against the accused states that on April 22, at Diamond Public Road, he wounded Gregory Sanmoogan with the intent to murder him.
During yesterday’s court hearing, Qu, with the guidance of his attorney, George Thomas, gave unsworn evidence from the prisoner’s dock.
Thomas then requested a date to have their two witnesses brought to court.
Subsequent to the attorney’s request, the matter was adjourned until July 12.
The matter is being prosecuted by police prosecutor Neville Jeffers.
