Capital Football Club of Linden yesterday received a monetary donation from the popular German’s Restaurant to aid its development.
Making the presentation was proprietor Clinton Urling who presented the club with a cheque for $100, 000.
Receiving the donation was Andra Mayers, skipper of the club in the presence of Keon Sears, Norbert Sansculotte, Dameion Forrester and Seon Holland.
Holland is the brother of the Club’s President Former Linden Mayor and Boxing promoter, Carwyn Holland.
According to Urling, sports in general, and football in particular, helps to bring communities together by fostering unity.
It also assists in developing good help among other benefits.
“This is a new club that includes a national youth player and we at German’s Restaurant will continue to support anything that helps the development of a Community” Urling said.
Forrester, speaking on behalf of the Region 10 Club, thanked Urling and German’s Restaurant for the contribution to the youngest Football Club in Linden.
“The club was formed a year ago and I think this donation will help to develop the Club and attract more members,” Mayers said.
