After denying a robbery allegation levelled against him, a vendor was on Wednesday granted $75,000 bail by Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty at a city court.
Simeon Truman, 21, of 564 ‘B’ Field, South Sophia, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 5, where it was alleged that he and company robbed Karen Adams on June 21 at D’Abreu Street, of a cellphone, handbag and umbrella, all valued at a total of $77,000.
Attorney Tiffany Jeffrey represented Truman. She told Magistrate McGusty that her client is a vendor at Bourda Market, he has never been charged before and has no pending matters at any courts. Jeffrey further informed the court that Truman was never placed on an identification parade, nor were any items found in his possession.
The accused was granted bail in the amount of $75,000 and is required to report to the Kitty Police Station every Friday.
The matter was adjourned until July 24.
