Time for PPP to be recast and made clean again

Dear Editor,

When the Caribbean Court of Justice ruled that two terms is all one gets to a presidential slot in our Guyana, upholding constitutionally enacted changes, I am sure those learned judges could not have meant for the Putin/Medvedev syndrome to be put into action via a questionable and weak proxy candidate, by a man who will not accept his time is past.

Former President Bharrat Jagdeo is simply trying to nullify the very ruling against a third term for the one so ruled against – him.

When a man gets to the stage,  where, when it’s all about him,  it is time for the party to be recast by the many who are suffering, for victory sake.

The Coalition government and its major player, the PNC, are in the driver’s seat precisely because of the shenanigans Mr Jagdeo played around with with former President Donald Ramotar’s five-year term, costing Ramotar two years of his five year term to boot.

What with our various local  court rulings, and, to date, the CCJ’s rulings, the fact of the matter is that Mr Jagdeo cannot bring out ten thousand protesters, far less fifty thousand like the PPP’s founder and honest man, Cheddi Jagan could have done.

When there is a Candidate with no baggage, a Medical Doctor like Cheddi was, and the most wholesome family life which is what Guyana needs now more than ever, in Dr Frank Anthony, whose only two sins are that he’s incorruptible and cannot be controlled by Bharrat Jagdeo, it is time for the party to be duly recast and made clean again.

Yours faithfully,

Eddie DaSilva
