Eagles defeated Topp XX 2–1 when the inaugural Summer Super Cup commenced Sunday at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground, Linden.
Following a scoreless first half, a period of four minutes would effectively decide the outcome as three goals were recorded during the aforementioned window.
Deon Charter handed Eagles the lead in the 75th minute but Jamal Bentick equalized two minutes later.
Eagles responded immediately through Donovan Francis who scored the winner in the 78th minute.
Meanwhile, Net-rockers and Amelia’s Ward Panthers battled to a 1-1 stalemate.
Delon Luke scored for Amelia’s Ward in the 18th minute but Deshawn Joseph equalized in the 47th minute.
The event resumes on Friday at the same venue with another doubleheader.
In the opening match, Capital FC battles Winners Connection from 19:00hrs, with Milerock slated to oppose Botofago at 21:00hrs in the feature affair.
