Youth gets six months for nicking money dropped near market

A youth has been sentenced to six months in jail after admitting to pocketing money someone else had dropped in the vicinity of Stabroek Market.

Daniel Wilson, 18, of 397 Fourth Bridge, Diamond New Scheme, East Bank Demerara, appeared before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

The charge stated that on July 10th, at Lombard Street, Georgetown, he allegedly stole $24,620 from Oslyn Roberts.

His first plea to the charge was not guilty but he changed it after the prosecutor read the police’s case to the court.
