A shooting at a creek last evening on the Linden-Soesdyke Highway has left a man nursing a gunshot injury to the face.
The injured man has been identified as Oron (only name given) of East La Penitence.
Details on what transpired remain sketchy.
However, a brother told Stabroek News that he, his girlfriend and a few others were standing in a corner when an individual tried to walk through their group.
He noted that they objected and asked the man to walk around. The man he said whipped out a gun and gun butted one of the members of their group. Seconds later, the man fired a shot and the bullet grazed his brother on his face.
Oron, Stabroek News learnt started to bleed profusely and was rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre.
Up to press time, he was receiving medical attention.
