Championships defeating Bermuda 2-0 on Saturday at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.
Jenea Knight was the difference for the Lady Jaguars, as she bagged a deserved double. Her first goal came in the 29th minute and the score would remain unchallenged in a half which Guyana should have increased their advantage as Tiandi Smith missed an open goal after dribbling the advancing custodian.
The outcome would eventually be sealed in the dying stages of the second half when Knight recorded her second in the 90th+2 minute.
With the win, Guyana are on three points and are at the top of Group A knocking St. Lucia off the zenith due to a superior goal difference.
St. Lucia had earlier defeated Suriname 4-3 in another Group A fixture.
Guyana will oppose Antigua and Barbuda today at 20:30hrs, before facing off with St. Lucia on July 19th at 20:30hrs. In their final match, Guyana will tackle Suriname on the 21st at 16:00hrs.
