President’s College clinched their maiden U18 title while Kwakwani and Marian Academy copped the U14 and girls divisions respectively when the National School Basketball Festival [NSBF] concluded on Saturday.
Played at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, East Coast Demerara outfit President’s College downed Kwakwani 89-79.
Richard Semple tallied 33 points and had eight rebounds in the win with Gabriel Lim adding 22 points and 13 rebounds and Rankin McDonald scoring 16 points and eight rebounds.
For Kwakwani, Rayon Shortt recorded 19 points and had 20 rebounds while Hosea Conway bagged 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
In the U14 final, Kwakwani mauled St. Stanislaus 77-25. Travis Lewis scored 26 points with six rebounds while Gevon Ross tallied a double-double of 23 points and 17 rebounds.
For St Stanislaus, Trevon Boston and Daniel Bailey scored eight and nine points respectively.
In the girls division, Marian Academy overcame Kwakwani 27-24. Kelliann Sauers recorded 14 points and eight rebounds while Shamina Peroune added four points and 13 rebounds.
For Kwakwani, Holly Grimmond netted 10 points and had four rebounds while Shania Sears added eight points.
