An alleged motorcycle thief was yesterday granted bail after denying the charge when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Gavin Haynes, 35, of 202 Charlotte Street, Georgetown pleaded not guilty to a simple larceny charge which was read to him by Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty. It is alleged that Haynes, on May 13th in the vicinity of Charlotte Street, stole a 150 Eclipse motorcycle valued $176,500, the property of Delicia Griffin.
Police prosecutor Annalisa Brummell did not disclose any information in the matter. The prosecutor did not object to bail being granted to the self-employed man but asked that it be on the condition that he reports to the Brickdam Police Station on Mondays at 9 am. Haynes was granted $75,000 bail and the matter was adjourned to July 31st.
