Rickland Bovell, the cabbage farmer accused of fatally stabbing 18-year-old David Toney at the Timehri Docks in April, yesterday heard that a prima facie case was made out against him.

During yesterday’s court hearing, Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, subsequent to being presented with closing submissions by police prosecutor Neville Jeffers, told the accused that a prima facie case was made out against him for the crime.

Bovell was then presented with the option of calling witnesses, which he has opted to do.

The matter was then adjourned until July 24th.

The accused is alleged to have committed the crime during an altercation at the Timehri Docks over payment for loading produce onto a truck.
