LUCAS STOCK INDEX
The Lucas Stock Index (LSI) rose 1.16% during the third period of trading in July 2019. The stocks of six companies were traded, with 20,310 shares changing hands. There were two Climbers and three Tumblers. The stocks of Republic Bank Limited (RBL) rose 12% on the sale of 7,200 shares, while the stocks of Sterling Products Limited rose 2.44% on the sale of 200 shares. The stocks of Banks DIH (DIH) declined 5.66% on the sale of 8,083 shares; those of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) fell 5.47% on the sale of 1,672 shares; and the stocks of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) went down 0.1% on the sale of 260 shares. In the meanwhile, the stocks of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) remained unchanged on the sale of 2,895 shares. The LSI closed at 555.77.
