Omalo Dick, who was charged last month with stealing 170 pounds of chicken, was yesterday sentenced in his absence to six months in prison for the crime.
The charge against Dick, 23, alleged that on June 22nd, he stole 170 pounds of chicken valued $51,680, from Rawle Burkett.
Upon the completion of his trial, which was conducted by city magistrate Rondell Weaver, Dick, who was not present in court, was found guilty of the offence and subsequently sentenced.
