The police are on the lookout for a suspect who could have been involved in the execution-style killing of Leon Hescott.
Thirty-six-year-old Hescott, called ‘Dudu’ was gunned down over two weeks ago at an abandoned building on Middle Road, La Penitence.
According to acting Crime Chief, Senior Superintendent Michael Kingston, the police will be making further information about the suspect available.
Previous reports indicated that the police had detained one male suspect for questioning just a day after the murder occurred. Hescott was shot multiple times about his body and subsequently died on the spot.
It was reported that the 36-year-old who had returned to Guyana just a day before the incident was seated in a chair outside the abandoned building eating when a man rode up on a bicycle, dealt him a punch and subsequently shot him multiple times.
The man is the fifth Hescott brother to be shot and killed. Dave Hescott was killed in 2007, Shawn Hescott in 2006, Winston Hescott in 1996 and Adam Hescott in 1997.
