Almost three years after being charged with the murder of Paul Rodney, two men were yesterday committed to stand trial for the crime.
Those accused of committing the offence are Joshua Meredith and Colvin Johnson.
The two were before Magistrate Leron Daly, who presided over the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the matter.
It is alleged that Meredith and Johnson, on November 21, 2016, at Avocado Square, East Ruimveldt, murdered Rodney.
The duo heard that the prosecution would have made out a case against them and as such they were committed to stand trial at the next practicable sitting of the Demerara Assizes.
Both men will remain on remand until that time.
Meredith was represented by attorney Stanley Moore and Johnson by attorney Leslie Sobers.
Rodney, 31, of Lot 530 West Ruimveldt, was gunned down on November 21, 2016, while returning from a dance in his community.
In May 2017 Meredith was also committed to stand trial for the murder of Gregory Garraway, who died on October 11, 2016 during the course or furtherance of a robbery.
