Director-General of the Civil Defence Commission (CDC), Lieutenant Colonel Kester Craig, yesterday afternoon, received a quantity of equipment valued $39,436,217, from the United States Department of Defense Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP).
A release from the Ministry of the Presidency said that US Ambassador to Guyana, Sarah-Ann Lynch handed over the items on behalf of HAP, at a ceremony held at the CDC’s alternative Headquarters Warehouse, Timehri, East Bank Demerara.
The equipment will be utilised to enhance the CDC’s Disaster Risk Management preparedness.
The release said that Craig thanked Lynch and the United States Embassy for the donation.
