The Rupununi Football Association (RFA) in partnership with Theresa and George Bobb will stage a Under-17 Girls 7-a-side Championship on Saturday at the St Ignatius Sports Ground, Lethem.
The event, which will be contested in an initial group stage format, will conclude at the same venue on August 31st.
Several teams are expected to participate in the event. They are Moco-Moco FC, Rising Stars FC, Gladiators FC, Rush Saints FC, Terminators FC, Far East Sports Club, Potarinau, Sky Kings FC and Tabatinga FC.
The matches will be played for a duration of 50 minutes. According to an official release from the sponsors Theresa and George Bobb, the event was conceptualised to aid in the development of women’s football. Meanwhile RFA’s President, Rayan Farias, thanked the sponsors for their timely partnership while adding that he is hopeful for their continued collaboration in the future.
