An interim management committee (IMC) has been installed to manage the Blairmont Community Centre Cricket Club (BCCCC) until the next Annual General Meeting in January next year.
The BCCCC last held elections in 2018 but the body has not functioned since the start of 2019 following the resignation of past president, Shabeer Baksh.
The IMC was installed on Wednesday, with Mohamed Hussain, a Harvesting Manager at Blairmont Estate leading the body. Hussain served as the secretary of the centre’s council decades ago and has been a key member at the youth and first divisions. He also functions as president of the Blairmont Masjid and the Sapodilla Primary School’s Parent-Teacher Association.
