Stabroek Weekend Lucas stock index By Rawle Lucas August 4, 2019 LUCAS STOCK INDEX The Lucas Stock Index (LSI) rose 0.42% during the fifth period of trading in July 2019. The stocks of six companies were traded, with 18,204 shares changing hands. There was one Climber and one Tumbler. The stocks of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) rose 5.79% on the sale of 90 shares. On the other hand, the stocks of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) declined 0.01% on the sale of 500 shares. In the meanwhile, the stocks of Republic Bank Limited (RBL), the Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), Banks DIH (DIH) and Sterling Products Limited (SPL) remained unchanged on the sale of 12,814 shares, 3,000 shares, 1,555 shares and 245 shares, respectively. The LSI closed at 586.57.
