(Trinidad Express) A man who police said was involved in car thefts and narcotics was gunned down near his Ste Madeleine home on Sunday.
Jesse Jacob, 34, a labourer, of Martin Prime Street, St John’s Village, was driving his vehicle when he was ambushed by two gunmen.
Police said around 7.30 p.m. Jacob was driving his grey Honda Civic along Martin Prime Stree. His 19-year-old girlfriend was in the vehicle.
Two men armed with guns fired at the vehicle, then ran off and escaped.
Jacob’s vehicle came to a stop a short distance away, and residents found Jacob bleeding from gunshot wound to the upper body.
He died at the scene.
The girlfriend was shot in the legs.
She was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where she was warded in stable condition.
Officers of the Ste Madeleine police and Homicide Region III responded.
