The 2019 Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ season will conclude this weekend when the National Championships kick off Friday at the Jubilee Park Tarmac.
The 16-team tournament follows on the heels of the highly successful Georgetown championships and will conclude on August 10th at the same venue.
Georgetown will be represented by six teams while four slots have been allocated to West Demerara. Bartica and East Coast Demerara will field two participants and Linden and Berbice one team each.
“The anticipation is at a fever pitch for the National Championship following a wonderful and exciting Georgetown Zone Championship,” a release from organisers Three Peat Promotions stated.
“The Georgetown teams and fans are bracing themselves for an invasion of talents as the visiting teams have been arduously preparing for this moment in which they put their abilities against the traditional giants of the sport.
“We can expect another exciting and thrilling tournament that will captivate the audiences who are expected once again to descend on the venue in their thousands,” the release added.
