Trend-Setters, High Rollers and Germans United secured lopsided wins when the 6th edition of the New Era Entertainment/Mohamed’s Enterprise Futsal Tournament continued on Wednesday.
Staged at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground tarmac, Trend-Setters mauled Quiet Storm 9-1.
Delon Luke led the rout with five goals, with Kevin Giddings the next best scorer with two goals. Adding a goal each were Kevon Prince and Chaka Hall. Ezequiel Clarke scored for the loser.
Similarly, High Rollers bested Silver Bullets 5-1. Omar Brewley and Jonah Simon recorded respective doubles, while Jehu Regis netted once. Clifton Halley was on target in the loss.
Likewise, Germans United disconnected West Side Connection 4-1. Emmanuel Atkins recorded a double while Andre Mayers and Ryan Noel scored one goal each. For the loser, Denzil Pryce found the back of the net.
Meanwhile, LA Ballers and Hard-Knocks battled to a 2-2 stalemate.
Colin Nelson bagged a brace for Hard-Knocks while Nicholas MacArthur and Darren Niles netted for LA Ballers.
The event resumes today at the same venue with the final round of group matches.
Silver Bullets will oppose Royal Warriors at 19:20hrs, with Haynes Hitters battling Achievers from 20:15hrs and North East engaging Mines All-Stars at 21:00hrs.
In the fourth clash, Trend-Setters take aim at Quiet Storm from 21:45hrs and Capital Storm clash with NK Ballers at 22:30hrs. In the final match, Capital Strikers oppose Germans United at 23:20hrs. The 18-team competition is being played in an initial round-robin format, with the top two finishers from each section progressing to the quarterfinals stage.
Group A consists of Nutt-man All-Stars, LA Ballers and Hard-Knocks, while Young Achievers, Capital Strikers, Germans United and West Side Connection comprises Group B.
Group C features Silver Bullets, High Rollers, Red Line and Higher Level, while Group D contains Capital Storm, NK Ballers, Quiet Storm, Trend-Setters and Dave & Celina’s All-Stars.
$600,000 and a trophy will be awarded to the winner, with the second, third and fourth place finishers copping $250,000, $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
