Carlton Bourne, the accused in a series of armed robberies, is now a remanded prisoner.
Bourne appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Monday, when five charges were read against him. It is alleged that on July 23rd, 2019, at Norton and Chapel streets, Lodge, while armed with a knife, he robbed Nicholas Jones of a gold ring, valued $60,000, a gold chain, valued $40,000, a cellphone valued $55,000, $28,000 in cash and a wallet, valued $3,000.
It is also alleged that on July 26th, at Norton Street, Lodge, Bourne, while armed with a knife, robbed John Nedd of a black bag, valued $15,000, an iPhone 6 Plus, valued $195,000, a Samsung J7, valued $60,000, and a wallet, valued $7,000, along with $810,000 cash and US dollars equivalent to GY$29,000.
